It’s been a minute

It’s a while since I’ve posted anything. I really just haven’t had anything worthwhile to say. (Maybe I still don’t!) It’s been a while since I’ve really felt like myself. There have been a lot of changes in my life in the last few months, some bad, most good, but changes are changes and they take their toll on you. So I’m waiting to hit my stride and become myself once again, and in the meantime, Christmas crept up on me.

I truly love Christmas. It’s my favorite time of year. There’s just something about the sense of family and warmth that comes shining through every year at this time that really gets to me. I think it’s because I always see Christmas in light of Easter. I see tiny hands nailed to a cross. I see that precious face bruised and bloodied. I see those perfect little feet bound and broken. And I know that all that was for me. And you.

There is something more to Christmas. I’m not trying to be maudlin, here, but I absolutely cannot view Christmas in any other respect. There is no greater love in all the world than the love that sent Jesus to a manger stall and then to a cross. I hope that this Christmas, in the middle of all the To-do lists and shopping and events and the shear amount of stuff that goes on, that you take a moment to pause and remember.

And thank Him.
